A phone carrying 10 GB of RAM arriving Next week. Xiaomi has just recently confirmed that its latest and upcoming phone, the Mi Mix 3 is set to launch on the 25th of October, and the company has certainly broadened our expectations, after giving us a glimpse of what’s set to come. Via a video posted on Weibo just today, the company has said that their latest device will feature not only 10 gigs of RAM, but also will support 5G connectivity.

While we know that the phone will indeed feature 10GB RAM, and support 5G connectivity, what we don’t know is exactly how the phone looks like. While it is true that we have been fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of teaser images, what the phone really will be about, is still pretty much unknown

However, the renders certainly looks phenomenal, to say the least. They go on to reaffirm the company’s implementation of a pop-up styled camera system, much like the one we saw in the OPPO find X. One of the main problems that many users had with the previous Mix phones was the awkward positioning of the front camera at the bottom of the phones, so this without a doubt, is a welcome enough change.

Let’s talk about the major things about the phone, shall we? And that is without doubt the fact that it’ll come with 10 gigs of RAM, and will indeed be the first smartphone, coming from a major manufacturer, to carry such a memory, of course, pending the surprise of the OPPO Find X 10GB RAM model. The big question in the mind of many at this moment, however, is whether or not such a huge amount of RAM is warranted on a smartphone – the simple answer to what many find to be is – no.

And while many of us won’t actually be able to take advantage of the 5G benefits for quite some time to come, such a specification would certainly help future proof the handset, meaning that this would be something for the future lasses to take advantage of. And if this isn’t impressive enough, Xiaomi might also make the inclusion of global frequency band support, similar to the case we saw with the Mi Mix 2.
