There have been some changes made to the working hours for federal government offices announced by the PM Shehbaz Sharif. There will be a start time of 7:30 AM compared to the previous time of 8 AM. All federal government offices across the country will be subject to the new policy that will go into effect immediately.

As part of the austerity measures, the PM has also made it clear that luxury cars that were given to the cabinet will be repossessed. As a result of the move, unnecessary expenses will be reduced and resources will be used efficiently, so that unnecessary expenditures are avoided. There will now be a requirement for cabinet members to make their own utility payments, which include electricity, gas, and water, in order to further reduce expenditures. By making this decision, an estimated amount of money can be saved, and that money can be applied to other areas, such as debt repayment, in the future.

Additionally, the government has threatened to turn off the electricity at shopping malls if the need arises after 5 PM, if necessary. It is hoped that this move will help conserve energy as well as reduce the strain on the national power grid. Aside from preventing power outages, this measure is also expected to help ensure that a sufficient supply of electricity is available, as the country is also facing a shortage of petroleum.
