Last week, Sony announced its latest and upcoming flagship smartphone : the Sony Xperia 1, with the announcement coming in China. Many have been anticipating the phone’s launch for quite some time now, and while it will come with some great features including the likes of 4K HDR display, triple rear cameras and the Snapdragon 855 chipset, the huge price tag that it is set to bring along with it may prove to be its undoing –only time will tell though. Today, Sony has officially gone on to confirm the device’s Pre-order and release dates.

As far as the Chinese market is concerned, the Pre-sales will commence tomorrow morning stating 10:00 AM local time. The shipments is the Pre-ordered units will start on the 6th of June, that too at 10 AM. In China, the phone will be available for 6,299 Yuan, which is the equivalent of $913. It will also feature in a range of color options, which will include likes of Fog Gray, as well as Night Black, Snow White and Purple.

Much has been said about the display of the device ever since it made its way into the world of speculation, and this is for all the right reasons – as far as Sony is concerned anyways. The flagship device packs a quite impressive 4K HDR 6.5-inch CinemaWide OLED display. The display is powered by Bravia TV and Master Monitor technologies also carries the support for 4K resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels. Gorilla Glass is what will protect the display of the phone.

Along with the Snapdragon 855, the Xperia1 will get its juice from the 6 gigs of RAM that it is set to come with. The phone will possess a 3300mAh battery to keep the lights running, while it will also carry the support for 18W fast charging via the USB-C port. Coming with 128 gigs of internal storage the phone will also have the option for expandable storage – via the microSD card of course. Android Pie will come preloaded on the device.
