The PTA has Received in Excess of 40000 Complaints in 2018, Which is 4 Times More than that of PTCL!

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority also known as PTA has received upwards of 40000 complaints in 2018 alone, which is 4 times more than that of PTCL who have received a reported 12873 complaints in 2018. Moreover as per the PTA,they have given the figure which is 40502 complaints in the year 2018. PTA also says that they were successful in addressing 40355 of the 40502 complaints registered against the authority, complains which were against multiple Cellphone Operators and their composite Internet Service Providers.

Furthermore in the annual report issued by PTA, they have mentioned that out of the 40502 complaints issued during the year of 2018, approximately 26828 complaints were against the Cellular Operators of Pakistan, while PTCL have been complained against, approximately 12873 times the same year. The complaints lodged against other ISP’s working in Pakistan amounted to only 766. The most highlighted complaint amongst various others was the complain against the Misuse of Service, which includes fraudulent usage of mobile phone services to spam customers.

According to the PTA, the authority received a surprising number of complaints regarding the fake text messages and calls from unknown numbers, enticing subscribers with attractive prizes and plots to in the short run deceive the people out of their hard earned money. Furthermore as per PTA, to prevent subscriber against the possible financial fraud through these services, PTA have started a campaign which has a sole purpose of creating awareness amongst the people of Pakistan and this campaign was initiated in this year, this in turn yielded positive results and is set to continue through the upcoming year of 2019 with the helping hands of the print media and of course electronic media!
