21-Year old Raghuveer Kumbar, A diploma Course dropout and a PUBG addict, killed his father in a rather brutal way in Kakakti on the outskirts of Belagavi in the early hours of Monday. This news came after a slew of reports of how PUBG was influencing Indian kids and teens. Students from all over India have not backed down after several ban attempts from the Indian Government.
However, the latest news comes as a huge shock of how a mobile game could be this important. Raghuveer Kumbar had his phone snatched from his father upon which he demanded his phone back to continue playing the game. His Father, Shankrappa Kumbar, aged 51, was tired of the game just like majority of other parents and was insistent on keeping the phone. This led to a brawl between the two. The mother, when intervened, was locked up in the bedroom by the son who then went onto strangle his father and then later beheaded him using a vegetable cutter. Reports claim that he also cut out his father’s left limb. His mother started calling out for help to which the son fled but was then captured by the police. To much surprise, the police said that even when in custody, the son asked to play the game.
This was not the first case presented to the parents which was related to the game. On another occasion, the son returned home bleeding with injuries on his hand after damaging a neighbour’s windowpane. On reaching the house, he was asked to wash and apply aid to which the son kept playing the game even in the bathroom.
The extent to which people are going to play this game is worrying and should be controlled!
