As far as the suggestion goes from the Higher Education Data Repository (HEDR) based on the Higher Education Commission (HEC), public universities in Pakistan are not as prepared as private universities to conduct online classes.

This latest news from HEDR just further goes on to make the case for students that are concerned all across the country with regards to their education – and have continuously suggested that as a result of lack of smartphones and laptops coupled with slow and unreliable internet speeds as well as mediocre quality of lectures being delivered, their education is severely being affected.

But is the HEDR really in the position to judge? Well, you can have a glance over to the aspects that actually form the basis of HEDR ranking and decide for yourself as to what is the case. Things like University readiness, course readiness, faculty readiness, technology readiness, library readiness, student readiness, evaluation readiness and finally – laboratory readiness have all formed part of being amongst the determining factors.

It is also being said that it is in fact both Islamabad as well as Balochistan that are in fact the best prepared regions to hold online classes. Both these regions have managed to secure a 95% amount.

All in all though, other universities have also garnered up some decent numbers, while many have also left us surprised. Consider the fact that the percentages are an overview of the readiness score for online classes as determined by the HEDR itself.

Government College University (GCU) managed a score of 74%, Punjab University 83%, Bahaiddin Zakariya University 75%.

On the other than though, private universities have managed much the better scores as the University of Central Punjab has an online readiness score of almost 100% while Beaconhouse National University (BNU) has a score of 97%.
