Realme never fails to disappoint when it comes to bringing new phones to market. The company has no particular timeline to follow and that means that it works consistently on innovation and is busy trying different things without having to worry about certain flagship sales or anything else. Similar to this business strategy, comes the Realme X, a phone that the company describes as the first entry in its first line of flagship devices. It’s by far the most powerful and spec-laden smartphone yet to come out of the new brand, but it maintains an aggressively low price point.
The Realme X isn’t a truly high-end phone, but it’s still pretty potent. It has a Snapdragon 710 processor, a 6.53-inch 19.5:9 1080p OLED screen with no notch.Chinese brands have taken to mechanised cameras in the last 12 months to offer a clean look at the front that isn’t marred by a cut-out, and the retractable camera is the new notch — every mid-range phone releasing this year will have it. a 48-megapixel camera with Sony’s IMX586 sensor, a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack, a 3,765mAh battery, and Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The Realme X pricing ranges from 1,499 yuan (~$220) to 1,799 yuan (~$260). The phone will be available in configurations with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, 6GB/64GB, and 8GB/128GB.
The current introduction of the Pixel 3A, which is priced in this category has just been given a run for its money by Realme. The sub-brand of OPPO will be coming hard at the Google device, but the software might just win it for Google, although specs say otherwise.
There is a younger sibling, with name X LITE as well. shares a lot of the same hardware, but with a waterdrop cut-out up front. The Realme X Lite is rocking a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 710, along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and a 4045mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 flash charging. Realme says the phone will charge up to 60% in just under an hour even with the screen on.
