As a result of a string of poor performances during the ongoing 2022 T20 World Cup in England and Wales, Pakistan’s ace wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, has dropped down to second place on the latest ICC T20I batter rankings.
It is no surprise that Rizwan has been replaced by Suryakumar Yadav, the flamboyant Indian middle-order batter who has so far shown off his class in the mega-event with two half-centuries in the three matches he has played during the event.
Rizwan is out from the World’s Best T20I Batter
So far, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 134 runs as a part of the T20 World Cup at an average of 67.00, making him the highest scorer with a strike rate of 178.66. Rizwan, on the other hand, has scored 67 runs at an average of 22.33 and a strike rate of 100.00 in the three matches he has played in the tournament.

Further, despite the fact that Pakistan’s captain for all formats, Babar Azam, has ranked fourth in spite of his woeful performance at the tournament, while Devon Conway, the opening batsman for New Zealand, is still ranked third in the test series.
In this year’s T20 tournament, two explosive middle-order batters made their way in to the top ten rankings after their sizzling centuries in the middle order. Rilee Rossouw from South Africa and Glenn Phillips from New Zealand made their debut in the top ten.
