Russia have Released the First Covid Vaccine in Russia

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin has just confirmed that Russia has registered the world’s first effective corona virus vaccine and that it will be widely available in the country in the coming days. In accordance with the details provided by Russia, the COVID-19 vaccine was invented and implemented on test subjects by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute and the Russian Direct Investment Fund and together both parties have been able to carry out successful clinical trials in less than two months, working constantly day in and day out. 

In a teleconference on the Russian state TV alongside his cabinet members, the President disclosed that one of his daughters has herself taken the vaccine after she  contracted the virus and after using the vaccine she feels a lot better. Now, Russian authorities have yet to issue any scientific data related to the long-term effects and possible side effects of the vaccine in question, however, Putin has assured the world the vaccine developed by Gamaleya researchers followed all the protocols during the clinical trials which were carried out by the researchers. 

President Putin said on that accord that, “This morning, Russia has registered the world’s first Coronavirus vaccine. As far as I know that it works quite effectively, it forms a stable immunity and, I repeat, has passed all the necessary checks.” In addition, the, Tatyana Golikova who is the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, says that the Russian frontline healthcare workers shall be receiving the vaccine by the end this month and if they face any issues such as contracting the virus, they shall use this vaccine as a meana of treatment.

In regards to making the vaccine available in other countries, a World Health Organisation (WHO) spokesperson states that the health agency is in close contact with the relative Russian health authorities on the possible pre-qualification criteria for a COVID-19 candidate vaccine which shall require a comprehensive research study in order to deem the vaccine worthy of being supplied worldwide. 

Conversely, many pharmaceutical companies which include the likes of AstraZeneca Plc, Moderna Inc., BioNtech, and Pfizer have termed Russia’s hastened registration of the Coronavirus vaccine as dangerous for the world. Health experts claim that the Russian announcement is nothing but propaganda from Vladimir Putin who is pushing to project Russia as a global scientific power.
