In the latest round of news, it has been suggested that Samsung aims to hold a share of at least 21.9% in the global smartphone market for the year 2022. Indeed the Korean manufacturer expects that there will be a revenge trend as far as 2022 is concerned on smartphones due to the prolonged Covd-19 which should then end up boosting smartphone sales.

Indeed the global smartphone shipments are expected to hit 1.52 billion next year, a figure which would represent a 7.6% year on year increase and Samsung hopes to sell at least 390 million units out of this figure, if it’s goal of 21.9% is indeed realized. But out of the total figure, only 33% is expected to come out of sales with respect to the Galaxy S22 series. From this then, 14 million S22 units are expected to be sold while the S22+ and the S22 ultra will bring in 8 and 11 million units respectively.

The Korean manufacturer is also planning a rather aggressive marketing campaign which will go a long way in helping to fill the void which has been left thanks to Huawei, which Samsung believes has not been capitalized on.

Moreover, the South Korean brand expects that the Chinese OEMs will end up controlling a total of 45.5% of the market share next year. It also estimates that Apple’s market share will rise from 15.8% in 2020 to 17.2% by the end of this year.

Samsung of course has a jam-packed early 2022 starting with the launch of the Galaxy S21 Fan edition at CES 2022. This will then be followed by an unpacked event which will be in February where the Galaxy S22 series will be unveiled. Following on from this, it expected then that the brand will launch phones throughout the year hence making it a very jam packed ordeal.
