It’s October and every company, including that of Google is yet to update their security bulletin board. However, ahead of that though, the Samsung Galaxy A50 actually becomes the very first smartphone to get the October 2020 security patch. This particular update is in fact rolling out currently to the SM-A50FN variant of the handset.
The Galaxy A50 was one of the very first devices in the new revamped Galaxy A series of budget smartphones. The device went on to debut in early 2019 with One UI which was based on Android Pie. Of course it was later updated to Android 10 based One UI 2.0.
Just like the rest of Samsung’s budget handsets, the Galaxy A50 too is eligible for quarterly monthly security updates. Surprisingly, although there happen to be many other smartphones under this particular category – as the more than a year Galaxy A50 happens to receive the October 2020 security patch first.
With that said of course, the update for the SM-A50FN variant of the device actually comes in weighing in at around 123MB in size. As expected of course, the changelog for this particular update only goes on to mention : “The security of your device has been improved.”
Indeed so as to know the exact changes that will be brought along with this particular update, we will in fact have to wait until the Korean manufacturer goes on to update its security bulletin board. With that said though, it is actually expected that other variants of this particular device will also be on the receiving end and will be in line for this particular update – all in the coming days.
