Samsung’s latest Galaxy S20 models featured with the 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor and also a Telephoto lens as far as the rear camera setup goes. In accordance with what South Korean Website TheElec has had to say, the Korean manufacturer might now have some plans to add a second telephoto lens on the device.

The report goes on to indicate that the Korean manufacturer will replace the 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor with a second telephoto lens while it will still retain the Quad-camera setup. This of course looks to be the case for the upcoming flagship model from the company.

It is in fact reported that Samsung will actually employ a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 108MP wide-angle lens, a 10MP 3x optical zoom telephoto lens and then a folded zoom telephoto. The folded zoom telephoto will feature with the support for over 5x zoom.

Apart from the folded zoom telephoto camera, the specs for the remaining three cameras are said to make their way with the same specs as far as the pixels go. The flagship model will pack a huge 40MP front camera.

The 3D ToF sensor was also yanked off the Galaxy Note 20 due to the fact that the sensor was seldom used by the owners of the particular device. Also, that particular device was below par with Apple’s very own – of course from where it drew inspiration in the first place.

If indeed Samsung goes on to include a twin telephoto camera setup on the Galaxy S21, it will in fact be tilting towards the Huawei P40 Pro Plus which also of course features with a 3X optical zoom lens and a 10X folded zoom. The P40 Pro Plus though also features with a ToF module, as the device features with a five-camera setup with two telephoto cameras.

It is expected that the Galaxy S20 series shipment will peak at about 20 million units this year – this figure being much lower than the 30 million units that was expected and also reached on an average on the previous Galaxy S series models beforehand.
