It has almost been a month since the Redmi Note 8 was launched in Redmi’s home country of China. The device happens to come in three variants – one with four gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of internal storage, another with six gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of internal storage, and finally, the more premium amongest the bunch which consists of six gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of internal storage. While it seemed as if Redmi played its cards, it just as might be true that we will be getting a new version of the device that will come with even more RAM and internal storage.

The TENAA listing for the Note 8 showcases that there indeed happens to be a version of the device that will come with eight gigs of RAM and 256 gigs of internal storage. Considering the fact that the Note 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 665 processor, eight gigs of RAM does seem a bit excessive – however, we have indeed previously seen these two being paired up together in the OPPO A9 2020 – which too comes with the Snapdragon 665 along with eight gigs of RAM.

It is good to see that Redmi took into account offering more internal storage to go with improved RAM so that users may be able to take advantage of capturing a large number of photos and videos taken with the device’s quad-rear cameras. And if the case arises where you need even more storage than the 256 gigs Redmi has to offer, there also happens to be a MicroSD card slot for an additional 256GB.

As far as the release for this new variant goes – we don’t know too much in this regard. However, when you consider the fact that the Note 8 is still less than a month old, one would have to imagine that Redmi wouldn’t be in any hurry to release this new variant.

The Redmi Note 8 features with a 6.31-inch FHD+ display that comes with a waterdrop notch. The notch houses the 13MP front-facing camera. On the back of the device is found a quad camera setup that consists of 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors. Along with the cameras is found a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and also a 4000mAh battery.
