The Jio Phone 5G, which is Reliance Jio’s first 5G smartphone, will be launched in India around the summer of 2022, according to the company’s announcement last year. It was because of this delay that the discussions about this 5G smartphone went cold for a while. It has been a while since Geekbench listed the device, but a recent listing has reignited hope that it might finally be on its way.

Currently, it has been halted on the Bureau of Indian Standards, signaling that it will be launched in the near future. On the certification website, the model number of the device has been spotted as LS1654QB5.

There is a rumor that Jio will launch its 5G phone in the near future

In accordance with rumors floating online so far, the Jio Phone 5G is expected to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen that offers 90Hz refresh rate and will offer a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is expected that the device will run on an Android 12 operating system, which might include a forked version of Android called PragatiOS, which is a fork of Android.

The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480+ chipset, which is a successor to the Snapdragon 480. In addition to this chipset, the device will come with 4GB of RAM along with 65GB of internal storage space. There is a 5,000mAh battery that is said to power the device with 18W fast charging and a capacity of 5,000mAh.

There is a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary camera expected to be included in the rear camera setup of the smartphone. According to reports, the device has an 8MP camera on the front of the device. The device is also expected to have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, and a Syntiant NDP115 AI processor that runs continuously.
