There had been rumors that a new version of the Meta smartwatch would come with Wear OS compatibility, but that was rumored to be false, and a new version of the Meta smartwatch retaining its Android-based OS has now been spotted. In spite of this, the new Meta smartwatch, which is based on Android, appears to be built according to the leaked image.

Metaverse ecosystem will gain a new impetus with the addition of the new Meta smartwatch to the platform. In view of the fact that Meta had previously announced that it was removing the Android-based design from its plans, it is obvious that it would have altered its plans as well.

Apparently, the new Meta smartwatch leak was done by tipster Kuba Wojciechowski and it bears a strong resemblance to the original Meta smartwatch which was released in 2013. With a Qualcomm chipset, the smartwatch runs on Android rather than Wear OS, and it has a detachable frame design, which allows the device to be removed from the wrist without affecting the frame, which allows the wearer to take the device with them at all times. With the detachment of the band, it is possible to deploy the smartwatch’s underside camera with a higher resolution.

A number of Android-based models have been made available in the Meta ecosystem, and the new Meta smartwatch adds to the list. With the addition of the new underside camera in the yet-to-be-released smartwatch, the product is an improvement over its predecessor. The position of the second camera on the V1 model had been quite challenging for Meta because of its position. It was discovered that there were issues relating to the nerve signals and camera in the previous model of the smartwatch.

This new model of the Meta smartwatch is expected to overcome many of the challenges that it faced in its first generation. A tipster has released images of the new smartwatch which show that the form factor of its predecessor has been retained. The sensors located at the underside of the device have, however, been tweaked for more efficient performance as well. There is a new watch face available for this model which has a simple blue design and a small red pointer at the bottom of the watch face.

It appears that the new smartwatch will not be integrated into the Metaverse immediately, based on the leaks from the company. There are no timelines for the release of the new Meta smartwatch at this time.
