IFA was the platform where Tecno launched its first laptop, but now we are getting something a bit more high-end known as the MACBOOK . There is no need to be deceived by the name of this laptop, since it is not only incredibly thin, but it also weighs only 1.35kg (2.97 lbs) and measures only 13.5mm thick (0.53 inch). There is not much difference between this and Apple’s latest MacBook Air when it comes to thickness.
Even though this laptop is quite small for a 15.6-inch variant, the magnesium alloy construction makes it extremely durable.
It has a 3.2K display that offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate with 100% sRGB coverage for reliable color accuracy, along with a 3.2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This LED floodlight has a peak brightness of up to 450 nits, as well as flicker-free dimming with DC technology. In terms of brightness, it is near the level of the MacBook Air 2022 and far brighter than most other Windows laptops.
It has been a few months since the MegaBook T1, powered by an Intel 11th-generation processor, was launched. However, with the S1, you get an upgraded 12th generation Core i7 with 35W TDP and dual-fan cooling system. It is possible for you to choose between 512 GB or 1 TB PCIe-4.0 SSDs for your storage and RAM capacity can go up to 16 GB (LPDDR5) for your RAM.

While the laptop is made of lightweight materials, it still manages to accommodate a battery that has a capacity of 70Wh. There is a 65W GaN charger included in the box that uses one of the two USB-C ports on the device for charging. Additionally, you will find two USB A ports, a full-sized HDMI port, a 3.5mm jack, as well as a microSD card reader on the device.
Aside from the fact that the MegaBook S1 comes pre-installed with Windows 11, it also has some unique Tecno features. Tecno’s NFC technology gives you the ability to quickly pair your smartphone with the MegaBook S1 via NFC, and you can then use its OneLeap feature to cast your smartphone’s screen on the laptop.
In order to accommodate six speakers as well as the DTS:X Ultra support, Tecno has managed to fit six speakers into its chassis. It is equipped with two microphones that are powered by artificial intelligence to cancel out noise onboard. A webcam with AI smarts is also built into it for privacy purposes. When it detects that someone is looking over your shoulder, it will automatically clear the screen if someone is looking over your shoulder.
It will be available in two configurations for the Tecno MegaBook S1, with 512 GB storage costing $1500 and 1TB storage costing $1600 in select markets. I am not sure if it will arrive in Pakistan or not.
