New iPhones are on their way in September of this year – however, the real question stands : could one of these iPhones be called the iPhone Pro rather than the iPhone Max?

In the past, we have seen larger iPhones coming with the “Plus” label attached – as evident from the iPhone 6 Plus that we saw in 2014, and the iPhone 8 Plus that we saw in 2018. Last year though, such a naming strategy was lost on Apple, as it decided to go with the “Max” name in the company’s iPhone XS Max.

News of such sorts comes from a Twitter user going by the name of CoinX. The name of the account or the source might not at all be too familiar to you – however, when you consider the fact that it was actually the same account that predicted the name of last year’s iPhones – it can be seen that there is the element of credibility attached.

The tweet reads : “Pro for iPhone?”. Having the element of ambiguity attached to it, many did not understand what this meant. And it still is debatable – as it could end up meaning that there will be both a Pro as well as a Max model, however, it is much more likely that the Pro name will replaced the Max name – alongside perhaps the more standard iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11R.

The naming policy is made even more plausible when you consider the fact that it would go on to bring iPhones in line with the iPads – this iPhone Pro could end up matching the iPad Pro. And also of course, MacBook Pros have been present in the market for many years now.

The more bigger and significant upgrades that this year’s iPhones are looking to get will seemingly be in the camera department – with some of the models getting triple-lens rear cameras – these being houses in a rectangular box.

And of course on top of the upgrades that we will see in the cameras, there will also be improvements internally. The recent suggestions on the design side of things though conclude that not much would be changed from what the iPhone XS looked like.

If the pro model within an iPhone lineup is introduced, one would imagine it to serve some kind of premium-level experience – possibly in the screen size, the camera capabilities, or something else entirely. As far as the case for that goes though : what Apple ends up doing; only time will tell.
