An encouraging development in Pakistani higher education is the ranking of 50 universities in the QS Asia University Rankings 2023, which is compiled by QS. The purpose of these rankings is to identify the best higher education institutions in Asia. There are, however, only two Asian universities that have made it into the top 100 universities in the world.
There is no doubt that the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) is the top-ranked university of a national university in this year’s QS Asia Rankings, according to details that were released today.
Among the top universities in Pakistan, NUST is followed by Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU), followed by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). The only Asian universities that make it into the top 100 in terms of enrollment are NUST and QAU.

The QS Asia University Rankings are published by QS every year since 2009, when it began publishing the rankings. These rankings are compiled through a similar methodology as QS World University Rankings as well as a few additional indicators that are taken into account.

A total of 760 universities have been included in the QS Asia University Rankings 2023, making it the most comprehensive rankings of Asia universities yet, since it was first published in 2009, and a record number for what it had previously been.
Taking the top spot this year for Asian higher education institutions is Peking University, while last year’s top institute, National University of Singapore, came in at number two. In terms of academic excellence, Tsinghua University is ranked third among Asia’s best universities.
