Timings for Ramadan announced by government

Ramadan is just around the corner, and the federal government has officially notified all government offices operating under it regarding the timings of its operations during Ramadan. In accordance with the new timings, they will take effect on the first of Ramadan, which falls on 23rd March this year.

It has been announced by the Cabinet Secretariat that government offices will operate from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM from Monday to Thursday as per the official notification.

In the morning of Friday, the government offices will be open from 7:30 am to 12 pm.

Almost a month away from Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, and Muslims around the world are preparing themselves to observe it as it approaches. The month of Ramadan is a month of fasting for Muslims, who fast from dawn to dusk and break their fasts with iftar in the evening.

The Government has decided that office hours will be 7.30 AM to 2.30 PM for all federal government offices from Monday to Thursday, following a high-level meeting chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar last week.

There was also a decision to close federal government offices on Friday at 12.30 PM that was made at the meeting. There have been some slight changes to the timings of the shutdown notified by the federal government a week after the initial announcement.
