On the occasion of the 75th independence anniversary of Pakistan, the government announced a number of scholarships under the Prime Minister’s (PM) Youth Program to students and researchers.
This announcement says that 75 scholarships are going to be awarded to well-deserving candidates to study in the world’s 25 most prestigious universities. There will be a two-year scholarship period for MS studies, and a four-year scholarship period for PhD studies.

It is important to understand the following information when applying for a Master’s or Doctoral Scholarship:
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must:
- Applicants must either be Pakistani citizens or Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) nationals.
- A student must have a confirmed/unconditional admission into any of the top 25 QS or Times Higher Education (THE) ranked universities for the subject matter under consideration.
- The candidate must have a minimum qualification of the following:
- Students applying for MS scholarships must be a BS, BE, MA or have equivalent 16 years of previous education in the relevant field of study in order to qualify.
- For Ph.D. scholarships, the candidate must possess a MS/MPhil/ME or three years of experience, equivalent to 18 years of education in the field of study.
- A minimum grade point average of 3 out of 4 on a semester system, or 3.75 out of 5 on an annual system, in a BS, BE, Masters, or equivalent degree program is required.
- Before receiving your final degree, you must maintain a minimum of one-second division throughout your academic career.
- You must be of a certain age on the date of the deadline, as listed below:
- An individual who is a full-time member of the faculty of a public college or university or a government employee must be at least 40 years of age.
- For all others, the minimum age is 35 years old.
- There are not going to be any other scholarships offered to you. It is mandatory for him/her to provide a No Objection Certification (NOC) from any scholarship project of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) if he/she has applied for any other scholarship.
- If he or she is a public sector employee of an organization or university, he or she must submit an NOC.
- After completing his/her studies, he/she will return to Pakistan.
