The world is slowly moving towards normalized circumstances, following the absolute state of emergency that was caused by the global pandemic caused by the outbreak of the COVID-19. More and more Healthcare institutions and organizations all around the world are devising new vaccines to rid the world of this virus and it seems China have come up with another possible vaccine. In a latest report from GeoNews, it has been revealed that, human trials for another Chinese coronavirus vaccine has been approved in Pakistan. The trials will start to administer adult volunteers as soon as next week.
It is worth noting here that, Pakistan has already given the green light for emergency use authorization to four anti-coronavirus vaccines as of the moment, these include: the UK’s AstraZeneca, China’s Sinopharm, Russia’s Sputnik-V and China’s CanSino jab. The one-dose Ad5-nCoV vaccine, that is produced by CanSino Biologics, in China, also held tests in Pakistan on over 18,000 volunteers across the country from the month of September to January.

Starting next week, Pakistan shall commence phase III, which is of course human trials, of another China-made vaccine, named, ZF2001, as told be Javed Akram, the Vice-chancellor of the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, in an interview with Geo.tv. In addition, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has also given the permission to conduct trials of ZF2001, a drug that has been co-developed by Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biologic Pharmacy Co. Ltd and the Institute of Microbiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Spokesperson for UHS, Dr Shehnoor Azhar, also confirmed the news to Geo.tv and further claimed that while most of the vaccines launched up till now require at least one or two doses for full effect, the ZF2001 vaccine is a three dose vaccine which is centrally focused on immunizing the person fully from any infections caused by the deadly coronavirus. Now, in the third phase of the clinical trials, he added, the vaccine shall be given to over 10,000 participants at the UHS, the National Defense Hospital in Lahore and the Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi.
