So the government of Pakistan has blocked the Urdu and Pashto websites of the Voice of America (VoA) platform as they have been reported to be covering anti-state activities of the Pakistan Tahaffuz Movement (PTM).

Moreover if you are wanting to access the website and hence make an attempt to access it, the website will show you many errors like for example www.urduvoa.com took very long to respond or moreover it showed “the connection to the www.urduvoa.com was interrupted while the page was loading  and finally the page showed that “The page that you are trying to view cannot be viewed because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified”. Now as per the information provided by an official of the Vo platform, the Pashto website was blocked months ago when they were found to be covering a PTM rally in which the people had with themanti-Pakistan slogans raised.

Moreover the Urdu website is still the latest of the government’s hunted, with the website only losing it license to the website just last week, after they covered the PTM MNA, MohsinDawar’s press conference. Furthermore the ECL list also contains a certain name which is that of MohsinDawar after he was accused of managing anti-state activities, and hence was barred from leaving the country.

Furthermore the official also states that initially the they were receiving complains that the website was not accessible at some places but later it was found that it was completely banned from sharing its content with the world. Mr. Fawad Chaudhary who is the current Information Minister of Pakistan also revealed to the official that the website is in-fact banned due to the reasons we have discussed above.Fawad also told Dawn that the blocked websites had been spreading anti-state propaganda against the nations security forces and for posting prejudice material, which is completely unacceptable as any kind of state treason is severely punishable so in turn the government ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block any such website!
