WhatsApp has been one of those apps that we have been using for quite some time but it has been always the same with little to no difference from the first time we used it. The same theme, the same chat layout, very few distinctive features, but since it is coming from Facebook ironically, people rely on the authenticity of the app and still use it as a daily driver for their messaging needs. A fresh update at this point would be a real good deal for all the users since it was time that the parent company did something new about it. So here we go. This is a list of all the possible features that we would be seeing soon on WhatsApp.

  1. HIDE MUTED STATUS:

This feature would allow for custom privacy. Just like the WhatsApp Display picture and the status, the privacy feature in whatsapp allows for two options: either to show both to everyone or just contacts. Now they would be getting a little custom about it by giving the option to the user to select the contacts from which the person needs to hides a muted status. It is not a major update, incremental at best, but in the modern world where privacy is a priority, such updates are welcome.

  1. DARK MODE:

Well, this is one thing we have heard before. Every new app is getting a dark mode because why not. The primary reason is that AMOLED panels can use the dark mode very well as it allows for the pixels to shut down when black color is needed to be displayed which means that it would be battery efficient, but not in the case of Whatsapp’s dark mode since it would be a very dark variant of grey and not black so we are back to square one on the basic advantage of a dark mode.

  1. FREQUENTLY FORWARDED:

This feature would be allowing users to see how many times was a particular message forwarded. Rececntly, the spread of fake news through message forwarding had become a huge issue which was dealt with by restricting the number of times to forward a message to be 5, but now it would provide additional functionality by showing the user how many times was it forwarded.
