Xiaomi is a company that has in recent times seen a lot of success, they only recently super seated one of the biggest companies in the world of smartphone technology, Apple and stripped them away of the world 3rd biggest market shareholder. It’s not just smartphones however, the company has also made its mark in various other market segments in the world of technology, smartwatches, TV’s and even cars, you name it, Xiaomi will have their product available for purchase. The company have just recently launched the Xiaomi’s Mi Box 4, a 4K Ultra HD streaming player which is based on Google’s Android TV operating system and this particular creation was launched earlier this year received a lot of praise from customers.

With the successful launch of that product, the company has now launched a successor to that device which they have dubbed as the, Mi Box 4S Pro. Although the newly launched Mi Box 4S seems quite identical to its predecessor, in terms of design, the new device has come with a some pretty nice upgrades which should attract a wider audience.

The recently launched streaming device will be capable of 8K video playback. The device comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and can support HDMI 2.1. As far as the controls are concerned, the device is comes along with a Bluetooth remote which will offer you voice control as well. When compared with the predecessor, we found that the RAM capacity has seen a significant increase, doubled actually. In terms of the HDMI standards, we saw that the new device will be capable of supporting 8K video playback at a 30fps. However, its still unclear as to which services will be equipped to handle the 8K content available or whether there are other ways to view your own 8K files on the device, we expect to get news on that particular aspect as well.

As far as the software is concerned, the Mi Box 4S Pro will run Xiaomi’s own MIUI for TV software. The device will launch in China for just $60, and according to reliable source within the company, Xiaomi has no plans to share for a global release. Only the Mi TV Box S released in 2018 is available in the global market now, which is a shame because such a product will surely provide a lot of competion to others present in the market.
