Xiaomi patents a new foldable smartphone

Chinese giants Xiaomi recently applied for patent and the patent was for a foldable smartphone which is predicted to be a part of the upcoming Mi Mix series. The patent was filed on the QCC app many presune that this patent could be for the Mi MIX 4 Pro Max or the Mi MIX Fold.

This news came from  a post made on Weibo which is a very famous, Chinese microblogging website, which announced the information of the new patent along with a few features of the smartphone. If the news is to be believed then this smartphone will be Xiaomi’s first ever smartphone which will come with a foldable design but thus far the name of this smartphone is unknown. Many have argued however, that this could be the Mi MIX 4 Pro Max or the Mi MIX Fold as stated in the Weibo post.

The post made on Weibo also claimed that this foldable smartphone will feature dual displays and will come packed with the flagship grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. The smartphone will also have dual 7 inch foldable screens which will support a refresh rate of 120Hz. On the back, the primary camera sensor will be a 108 megapixel sensor. The smartphone will also host a 5,000mAh battery which will also support 67W fast charging. 

It is still unclear whether or not wireless charging will be featured in the smartphone as well. In addition, the Weibo blogger did say that the smartphone  will be released sometime in April this year however, keeping in mind that this is just a post that was made by a blogger on Weibo, it should be taken with pinch of salt. Xiaomi has still not confirmed any of the claims made by the blogger and have not yet made any official announcements concerning the foldable smartphone.
