Car manufacturing giant Tesla is reportedly in the works of a new feature for the sake of its popular electric cars. While this might not exactly be a highly anticipated feature though, due to the fact that it happens to lock users out of the seat controls, if they happen to fiddle with such controls a bit too much.

In accordance with what a hacker and researcher is reported to have said, this new feature will actually make its way from the American EV maker and will be rolled out so as to prevent the rather excessive abuse of seat controls. The company actually began the process of installing new seat motors in some of its model 3 as well as model Y series EVs – which aren’t exactly made from China’s Yangfeng and it’s on in house production. These new motors will in fact be made by Brose.

However, what’s interesting to note is the fact that the striking difference which exists between the two other motors and the bride one is what the hacker dubbed as “seat abuse” metric. In simpler words then, this new feature will end up serving as a warning to users if they happen to make too many adjustments. Moreover, it will also outright disable the seat controls too, if the user doesn’t exactly end up making note of such warnings. This also then implies that the Tesla Model EV is indeed keeping track of the number of adjustments that a user happens to be making.

While this might then sound like the manufacturer is actually taking control away from the users, it’s important to consider the fact that the feature will in fact kick in only when the seat controls happens to be used in an excessive fashion, which means that it’s probably out there so as to stop children messing around with the buttons or something like that.
