Samsung’s latest line of Galaxy S flagships is finally officially launched. Its Galaxy S22 lineup includes the simple S22 and S22+, S22 Ultra that is now among the best, if certainly the least, of themost powerful smartphones around.

The most significant upgrades are Samsung’s flashy new chipset the Exynos 2200, that is developed in partnership with AMD and features RDNA 2 graphics. RDNA 2 graphics are the RDNA 2 technology also powers the latest and top gaming consoles available on the market, such as Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

These Exynos 2200 models will launch globally; however, Chinese or American customers will be getting their hands on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version.

From the first look, you can clearly tell that the S22 Ultra appears to be the baby to Galaxy S series and Note series. Galaxy S series and Note series. The design style is like that of the Galaxy Note 20 with symmetrical dimensions and a pronounced display curve along the sides. S Pen S Pen is fully integrated in the phone with an S Pen slot that is dedicated, unlike the previous model, S21 Ultra, which only had S Pen support without full integration.

Does this mean that the Galaxy Note series is officially gone? Most likely.

The display is a large 6.8-inch Dynamic 2X AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and seamless 120Hz refresh rate. Because it’s a “Dynamic AMOLED panel it’s able to reduce the rate of refresh in order to conserve battery. In addition, it supports HDR10+ HDR content as well as 12-bit color, and 1750 nits of peak brightness.

This fingerprint sensor uses an ultrasonic sensor that has been integrated in the display.

As we mentioned previously, it is worth noting that the S22 Ultra boasts the flagship Exynos 2200 SoC that is a direct competitor to both the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Dimensity 9000 regarding performance. The Xclipse GPU runs AMD’s rDNA 2 graphics technology, which can enable hardware-level ray-tracing in smartphones , allowing stunning graphics when playing video games.

Samsung states that the S-Pen is lower in latency than its predecessor at 2.8 milliseconds.

The basic memory configuration is 128GB/8GB however Samsung can provide up to 1TB of storage and 12GB RAM if you’re not afraid of paying an arm and a leg. The phone will be running One UI 4.1 that is based on Android 12. Samsung promises to provide four years of OS updates as well as 5 years of security updates that is a first for Samsung.

The camera’s main setup is impressive. It has a 108MP main camera sensor, which is 1/1.33” . It comes with Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS, Laser Autofocus, and many more. The third sensor is a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera that has a wide angle of 120 degrees. These cameras all have capability for OIS and extremely steady video clips as well as images.

The 40MP selfie camera can record 4K videos at 60 FPS.

Samsung has lifted the 25W fast charging limit. Its S22 Ultra supports 45W of wired charging on its battery, which is 5,000 mAh, along with 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
