For those of you who are unaware, the device from Samsung makes way with a 6.4-inch display which has a refresh rate which ends up maxing out at 120Hz. However, even though the phone does indeed feature with an impressive refresh rate, many users have actually complained that they have been on the receiving end of a laggy experience. All in all, this was actually especially noticeable as far as the UI animations went – this being the general case for those present on the thread of one support forum. As a matter of fact, the thread actually points towards several reports that all in all point to the very same issue. In the current moment in time though, it is rather unclear as to what is causing this issue, however, what we do know for a fact is that the issue is persisting in both the Exynos variant of the phone as well as the Snapdragon variant. And so, that does in fact point towards the fact that it has something to do with software rather than hardware. However, at the same time then, it’s also important to remember the fact that hardware defects have in fact caused trouble with the display in the past.

For now, the only fix in respect to his problem that has gained any sort of prominence revolves around turning the screen on and off in order to get through the lower refresh rate.
