A District Court Judge Muhammad Atta Rabbani, has sent Zahir Jaffer to the death penalty following the conclusion of the seven-month long trial of the case concerning the horrific murder of Noor Mukkadam.

According to the facts that have been provided, the principal accused in the case was handed the death penalty. Two others accused of the case, Jamil and Iftikhar who are the chef and security guard, respectivelyEach has been handed the same sentence of 10 years in prison.

Zahir has been sentenced death for kidnapping, securing, and killing Noor and hiding the murder and manipulating evidence. He was charged under Sections 302,109, 364 342, 368 511, 376 and 376 in the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

In addition both parents Zahir Jaffer–Zakir Jaffrey and Ismat Adamjee, as well as others accused, as well as the employees from Therapy Works have been acquitted.

In July last year the whole nation was stunned to the core following Noor Mukkadam who was 28 years old, child of the former Pakistan ambassador was brutally killed in Islamabad.

Zahir Jaffer, the prime suspect in Noor’s death, was detained at the scene of the murder. The dagger, a pistol and other weapons used in the crime were found. The family members of the victim, his staff members and therapists were suspected of being the murderers.
