In the most latest turn of events surrounding the war between that of Russia and Ukraine, it has been suggested that the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine has actually written a letter to the CEO of Apple, urging him to stop the sales of Apple products in Russia and even block the country’s access to its App store.

The letter from the Minister concludes by saying that help from Apple is required and amidst Russia’s invasion of his country. The Minister is indeed in the process of asking the tech giant to stop providing Russians with both services as well as products as a form of support. At the current moment in time, as things stand right now, Apple sells its Macs, iPhones and also other products via the aid of its official website in Russia. However, the US has indeed weighed in and has already placed sanctions which will make sure that Apple won’t be able to export select products in the Russian territory. However, this might not have affected the brand all the much right now, since it hasn’t stopped sales right now.

The letter from the Minister goes on to state : “I appeal to you and I am sure you will not only hear, but also do everything possible to protect Ukraine, Europe, and finally, the entire democratic world from bloody authoritarian aggression – to stop supplying Apple services and products to the Russian Federation, including blocking access to App store! We are sure that such actions will motivate youth and active population of Russia to proactively stop the disgraceful military aggression.”

Of course the CEO of Apple too has weighed in on the situation as a whole, as he claimed recently that he was deeply concerned with what is going on in Ukraine and also claimed that Apple will be “supporting the local humanitarian efforts.”
