Different vegetables are now selling at a record high in Islamabad and other parts because of a shortage of supply. Floods in Sindh and Balochistan have also caused crop destruction.
As supplies run out, prices will likely rise further.
Data gathered from the markets in the federal capital shows that the price for one kilogram (kg), of onion has risen to Rs. 350 on the open market.

The ginger price has risen to Rs. 400 per kilogram, while the price for tomatoes has risen to Rs. 300 per kilogram on the open market
The open market price for garlic is about Rs. The price for garlic in the open market is close to Rs.290 per kilogram, while the price for widely eaten potatoes has risen up to Rs. 70 per kg. In recent days, prices of other fruits and vegetables have also increased significantly.
