Instagram, as per reports, is apparently working on a safe version of its app which would be suitable for children that happen to be below the age of 13. This move is indeed similar to one that was taken by Facebook – which of course was specially tailored and made for children.

In accordance to the latest reports, Instagram recently proceeded on to make changes to its safety features, which then allows parents to ensure that their children have a healthy as well as safe experience, which also states that children under the age of 13 should be allowed from signing up on the social media platform. As per the internal note from VP of products, a version of the popular application is indeed arriving specially made for kids aged 13 or lower, and happens to be currently under development. you can Change Region in Instagram.

Moreover, this news was also confirmed by the company’s chief in a recent interview. He further proceeded on to add that it is indeed a difficult task to identity a person’s age, especially when you consider the fact that most users don’t get proper identification up until the point that they reach their late teens. Of course the parent company of Instagram already has a product which happens to be targeted towards young individuals : dubbed as Messenger Kids, which might be serve as a basis for ‘kid’ version of the popular social media platform.

The note goes on to read : “We will be building a new youth pillar within the Community Product Group to focus on two things : (a) accelerating our integrity and privacy work to ensure the safest possible experience for teens and (b) building a version of Instagram that allows people under the age of 13 to safely use Instagram for the first time.” All in all though, stay tuned for more updates, as it seems that the tide is changing for the social media giant.
