Earlier this month, Nubia launched its Red Magic 8 Pro series in China, which comprises the Pro and Pro+ versions of the handset. It has now been announced that the Red Magic 8 Pro smartphone will be available on global markets in the near future. It is also worth noting that along with the launch of the smartphone, Nubia has also redesigned its logo in a bid to express the brand’s objective of becoming much more than a gaming smartphone, but rather the right gear for people of all ages and walks of life. There is a boxy appearance to the Red Magic 8 Pro. There is a volume rocker and a power button on the left side of the smartphone, while the right edge features shoulder trigger buttons that are designed for gaming, along with a slider in red colour. On the back panel of the phone, there is a pill-shaped module that houses stacked triple rear camera sensors vertically. In terms of color, the smartphone is available in two variants: Void and Matte, of which the former is a transparent version while the latter is a black one. With respect to the transparent variant, the middle frame is made of metal while the rear cover is made of glass. Additionally, there is a fan built into the back panel which is illuminated by RGB lights.
In terms of the display, the Red Magic 8 Pro comes equipped with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, 1,300 nits of brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a seventh-generation ultra-thin screen fingerprint scanner with a heart-rate detection feature. There is also a second-generation 16MP under-display camera. The smartphone has a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit.

Under the hood, the Red Magic 8 Pro houses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It is equipped with an ICE 11 cooling system that comprises a composite graphene, vapour chamber heat dissipation plate, air aluminium box, turbofan, high-conducting gel, copper coil, cooling air duct, turbo cooler, and graphene under the screen. The device packs up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It draws its power from a 6,000mAh battery unit with support for 65W charging. The smartphone runs on Red Magic 6-based Android 13 out of the box.
The Red Magic 8 Pro Matte option is available in 12GB + 256GB configuration. It carries a price tag of $649 (~RMB 4,369). The Void option is offered in 16GB + 512GB variant and costs $799 (~RMB 5,379). The smartphone will be available in select countries in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America. It will be available for order from February 2nd from the brand’s official website.
