It has been reported that Mobvoi’s much-anticipated TicWatch Pro 5 has been leaked in alleged renders. This moniker suggests that Mobvoi has skipped one step in the evolution of its TickWatch Pro series with this new smartwatch. Based on the renders, it appears that the smartwatch will run on a new Qualcomm chipset, which will provide it with its power.
Mobvoi was one of the first brands to confirm that they will be utilizing Qualcomm’s latest lineup of chips in order to create wearable devices. The new TicWatch Pro 5 will feature a chip that is based on the Snapdragon 805 that was announced last July. There are no official names yet for the smartwatch but a leaker Kuba Wojciechowski has hinted at the Pro 5 name.
According to the rendering of the TicWatch Pro 5, the watch face includes a single crown, unlike the previous iterations, and the device has a new design. This watch has a rotating dial, and above the dial there is a flush button. There are however a few aspects of the new watch that haven’t changed from the previous models of the TicWatch Pro. There is a custom texture around the bezel of this watch and as with previous Mobvoi products, the watch band is made of hard silicone, as with previous Mobvoi products.

A tip from a tipster suggests that Mobvoi may be close to releasing the new smartwatch to the general public at some point in the near future. Even though Mobvoi has not yet released any official details about the TicWatch Pro 5, it is expected to be a big hit when it is released. There are already a few smartwatches on the market equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ which is built on a 4nm process. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ processor is more efficient at managing power than its predecessors and can yield up to 50% more battery life than its predecessors. There are also 30% fewer components in it compared to the Snapdragon Wear 4100+.
We expect to be able to get a more detailed look at the specifications, pricing, and availability of the upcoming Mobvoi smartwatch later this year.
