As you may know, India has experienced a string of aviation accidents involving its military air fleet in recent years.

The state of Arunachal Pradesh, in a region near China’s disputed and militarized border with India, was the site of a helicopter crash in October 2021 that resulted in the death of five army soldiers.

After a Cheetah helicopter pilot lost his life in a similar accident earlier that month in the same state, this was the second military helicopter crash in the same state that month.

Moreover, in December 2021, India’s defense chief, General Bipin Rawat, was one of 13 people killed in a crash of a Russian-made Mi-17 helicopter that occurred in India.
