A new series of Xiaomi phones will be released later this month on the global market under the brand new number series. There will be an announcement of the new series of Xiaomi smartphones during the MWC Barcelona scheduled for February 26th, which will include the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13 lite. Rumors suggest that Xiaomi is also working on releasing the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, but the device is unlikely to arrive any time soon. Despite this, we are able to get a good look at the design of the device thanks to a leaked image.
It seems that a live image of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has been making its rounds on the Chinese social media platform Weibo recently. As you can see in the image, the device has a circular camera module in the center, which is branded with the Leica brand. There are four cameras and an LED flash in the module, as we can see in the picture above. A vegan leather finish appears to be applied to the backside of the device.

There is a lot of similarity between the design of this device and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, but there are also some significant differences between the two. The 13 Ultra, for instance, has a smaller camera module than the 12S Ultra, which means that the camera is protruding less on the new device. Also, it seems that the back of the smartphone has been partitioned into two parts, with the upper part raised.
Do note that the image embedded above is not verified and it could very well be a fake. Previous reports have revealed the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have a 50MP Sony IMX989 1-inch camera sensor, accompanied by an improved periscope camera. In addition, the handset will sport a Samsung E6 Super AMOLED display with curved edges.
Xiaomi had already confirmed that the next-gen Xiaomi Ultra smartphone will be available for purchase in the global market as well. Currently, there’s no information about the device’s launch date. We’ll keep an eye out for any new developments.
