The upcoming release of the Nothing Phone (2a) is causing a stir, particularly with its apparent departure from the conventional design. An official press image has emerged, contradicting earlier leaked images which wrongly positioned the dual camera. Surprisingly, this new image suggests that the Phone (2a) may not feature the iconic Glyph interface.

Despite the absence of the Glyph interface, the phone maintains the transparent aesthetic characteristic of Nothing phones. Owing to its budget nature, the lack of a wireless charging coil is understandable, as such features are typically reserved for premium models. Additionally, the main camera’s correct placement addresses previous concerns raised by leaked hands-on images.

While the Glyph interface has garnered attention for its uniqueness, users have found limited practical utility in it. Thus, its removal may not significantly impact avid Nothing phone enthusiasts. Nevertheless, the transparent design continues to set the device apart from other Android and iPhone models.

Leaked specifications have provided insight into the anticipated features of the Nothing Phone 2a. Expectations include a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by the Dimensity 7200 chipset, the phone is speculated to offer variants with 8/12GB of RAM and storage options of 128/256GB. The rear camera setup is rumored to consist of two 50MP cameras. With a projected launch price ranging from $400 to €400, the Nothing Phone 2a aims to offer affordability without compromising on essential features.
