Tecno Unveils Camon 30 Series at MWC 2024

Tecno has officially unveiled its Camon 30 series during the MWC 2024 event, introducing four distinct models: the Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, and the previously covered Camon 30 Premier 5G. In this article, we’ll delve into the features of the Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, and Camon 30 Pro 5G.

 

Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G: Similar to its Premier counterpart, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is powered by the formidable Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset. It boasts an impressive camera array, featuring a 50MP 1/1.56” sensor in its primary camera, accompanied by Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Additionally, it houses a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus. However, the Pro model diverges in its camera setup by substituting the 3x periscope with a 2MP depth sensor. Despite lacking the LTPO display present in the Premier variant, the Pro version offers a commendable visual experience with a 6.78” panel boasting a remarkable 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,436px. The device is fueled by a substantial 5,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging support, similar to the Premier model. Moreover, it features stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos technology and includes an IR blaster positioned at the top of the device.

Tecno Camon 30 5G: The Tecno Camon 30 5G is equipped with a different chipset, a revised version of the Dimensity 930, known as the Dimensity 7020 SoC. While it may not fully leverage the expansive 6.78” display at 144Hz, it still offers a vibrant viewing experience with a slightly lower 120Hz refresh rate on its 1080p AMOLED panel. One of its standout features is the 50MP selfie camera with autofocus capability, which is accompanied by a dual-color temperature flash for improved image capture in various lighting conditions. The rear camera setup features a different 50MP sensor (1/1.57”) as the main shooter, complemented by OIS for sharper photos. However, the absence of an ultra-wide lens is notable, with only a pair of lower-resolution auxiliary lenses available. The device shares the same battery capacity as the Premier model, boasting a 5,000mAh battery with support for 70W wired charging. Users can still enjoy immersive audio through stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos technology, along with the convenience of the IR remote control feature.

 

Tecno Camon 30: The regular Camon 30 closely resembles its 5G counterpart, albeit utilizing the Helio G99 chipset, thereby forfeiting 5G connectivity. Despite this difference, both models feature a generous 6.78” 1080p AMOLED display operating at a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, users can expect consistent performance from the shared 5,000mAh/70W battery setup, along with immersive audio quality delivered by Atmos-enabled stereo speakers. The camera setup mirrors that of the Camon 30 5G, including a 50MP OIS primary camera and another 50MP camera for selfies. Interestingly, the regular model includes NFC functionality, unlike the others. Users have the option to choose between a glass back or vegan leather for all three models.
