Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced on Friday that the ban on X (formerly Twitter) will be lifted once appropriate rules and regulations are established. Explaining the rationale behind the ban, the provincial minister noted that many countries have laws governing social media to combat digital terrorism, which is often perpetrated through social media accounts. She emphasized that all accounts must comply with these rules and regulations.

Addressing a question, Azma Bokhari expressed deep concern over the financial and mental distress experienced by the people. She highlighted that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has imposed stringent conditions on Pakistan.
