In a surprising development, fans have initiated a boycott of acclaimed actors Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed following the release of their new series, “Barzakh.” The show, which explores sensitive topics including homosexuality, has provoked significant backlash on social media.

Fawad Khan, celebrated for his diverse roles in both Pakistani cinema and Bollywood, gained prominence as a singer before transitioning to acting with Shoaib Mansoor’s “Khuda Kay Liye.” His career has included notable performances in dramas and films, including Bilal Lashari’s “The Legend of Maula Jatt.” Khan also made a mark in Indian cinema with films like “Khoobsurat” and “Kapoor & Sons” before Bollywood imposed a ban on Pakistani artists. He has recently been involved in projects supported by Indian producers, diverging from traditional Pakistani storylines.

In “Barzakh,” Khan plays the role of Shahryar, a character in a series that addresses mental health issues. However, the show has faced heavy criticism for its portrayal of homosexuality, leading to widespread online disapproval.

Critics have accused “Barzakh” of promoting an LGBT agenda, arguing that it distorts the Islamic concept of Barzakh into a controversial narrative that includes themes of vulgarity and LGBTQ issues. Some have even claimed that the series endorses Illuminati and Jewish Kabbalah magic.

The backlash has been severe, with former fans expressing their disappointment and pledging to boycott Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, and actor Khushal Khattak. Many argue that the actors’ involvement in the series betrays traditional values.

Despite the controversy, “Barzakh” remains available for streaming, sparking ongoing debates and discussions in the media. The response from the actors and creators to the backlash is yet to be addressed.
