While the race for faster wired charging speeds has lessened, it is far from over. Recent reports from China indicate that Realme is working on a 300W wired charging technology for its smartphones.
Notably, Realme will not be the first Chinese brand to unveil such a rapid charging solution. In February 2023, Redmi revealed a similar 300W technology, claiming it could fully charge a 4,100 mAh battery in under five minutes. However, more than a year later, no Redmi phone has adopted this fast charging feature.

Realme’s anticipated 300W charging technology may primarily serve as a demonstration of their innovation, with actual implementation in devices likely to be delayed. Currently, Realme’s fastest charging solution available is 240W, featured in the GT 5 and GT Neo 5 models.
Additionally, the source of the charging tech rumors also hinted at the next device from Realme—the GT7 Pro. This phone is expected to include IP69 water and dust resistance and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. However, it will not feature the new 300W wired charging technology. It may be some time before Realme introduces this advanced charging tech into commercially available smartphones, with a high likelihood that it won’t occur in 2024.
