Google has replaced the optical fingerprint scanners with faster ultrasonic ones in both Pixel 9 Pro models, claiming a 50% increase in speed and improved security.

Internals and Software
Both Pixel 9 Pro models use the same Tensor G4 chipset found in the standard Pixel 9. This 4nm processor is paired with a Titan M2 security co-processor, and memory options include up to 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. Additionally, the devices feature the Exynos 5400 modem for better efficiency.

The Pixel 9 Pro phones come with Android 14, offering 7 major OS updates and ongoing security patches. New AI features include an “Add Me” function in the camera app, allowing users to add themselves to group photos even without someone else to take the picture. The Magic Editor also allows users to reimagine photos by replacing objects in an image, such as swapping a road for a river.
