The ongoing slow internet speed across the country for several days has severely affected online businesses, freelancers, and domestic users. There is also a growing concern that 2.5 million freelancers may lose their jobs.

The Internet Service Providers Association has stated that due to the slow internet, many businesses are considering moving their operations abroad, while experts have also labeled the government’s meaningful silence on the slow internet as a threat to business people.

In this regard, the Chairman of the Internet Service Providers Association, Shehzad Arshad, mentioned that business people ask us about the reason for the slow internet speed, but we do not receive an effective response from the PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority). Many people are compelled to consider shifting their staff abroad.
