Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to postpone its planned public gathering in Islamabad. This decision follows instructions from PTI founder Imran Khan, who has been incarcerated since August of the previous year.

The situation in the capital city remains tense as Khan’s party had intended to hold a rally in Islamabad. However, the ICT administration revoked the rally permit late last night, leading to heightened security measures across both Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

On Thursday morning, the Red Zone area was blocked off with containers, restricting access to major routes. Security has been significantly increased, with entry to the Red Zone now limited to government personnel who must present their office identification.

In response to the heightened security, the Islamabad administration has declared a holiday for schools in the city. The disturbance also extends to other cities; in Lahore, traffic disruptions have occurred at Babu Sabu Chowk, Sagian, and Ring Road.

Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer, Amara Athar, has advised travelers to verify their routes and use helpline 15 for assistance.

In Lahore, a significant police presence was stationed at Thokar Niaz Baig, where PTI’s women’s wing was assembling for a caravan intended to participate in the Lahore rally.
