On August 28 and 29, at least 12 militants were killed during ongoing intelligence-based operations in Tirah Valley, Khyber district, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The ISPR stated that these extensive operations have been underway in the region since August 20, targeting militant groups.

During these operations, security forces engaged Khwarij positions, resulting in intense firefights and the elimination of 12 members of Fitna-Al-Khwarij. The army’s media wing reported that the operations have significantly weakened Fitna-Al-Khwarij and its affiliates, with a total of 37 terrorists killed and 14 others seriously injured to date.

The military emphasized that these operations will continue until peace is fully restored in the region and all Khwarij elements are eradicated. Following the successful operation, top civil leaders, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, praised the security forces for their efforts in Tirah Valley and underscored the nation’s unity with the military in the fight against terrorism.
