Lieutenant General Muhammed Asim Malik, HI (M), has been appointed as the new Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). According to local media reports, Lt Gen Malik will assume his responsibilities starting Monday, September 30.

Currently serving as the Adjutant General at the Army General Headquarters, Lt Gen Malik brings extensive experience, having commanded an infantry division in Balochistan and an infantry brigade in Waziristan. A distinguished military leader, he is also a recipient of the prestigious Sword of Honour.

Lt Gen Malik is set to replace Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum, who was granted a one-year extension by Pakistan’s previous caretaker government last year.
