The Regional Tax Office 1 (RTO-1) Karachi, under the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), has launched action against four wedding halls for failing to comply with Section 236CB of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
These venues were repeatedly instructed to collect taxes from customers and deposit the amounts into the national treasury but failed to do so. According to sources, this crackdown is part of efforts to broaden the tax base and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
