The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced Thursday evening that a fault has been detected in the AAE-1 submarine cable near Qatar, which could potentially affect internet and broadband services across Pakistan.

In a statement, the telecom regulator informed the public that the fault in AAE-1, one of the key international undersea cables connecting Pakistan to global internet traffic, might disrupt users’ internet experience. PTA reassured that the concerned teams are working to fix the issue promptly.
