The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has conducted an Independent Quality of Service (QoS) Survey in 18 cities across Pakistan to assess the performance and quality of services provided by Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs). The results reveal Zong’s dominance in several key areas, with the operator achieving the top position across nearly all attributes in the survey.
Key Findings from the PTA Survey
The survey covered various key performance indicators (KPIs) related to voice services, mobile broadband (including throughput, latency, and web browsing), and Short Messaging Service (SMS). The overall results show that CMOs met most of the KPIs set out in their licenses and regulations. However, they faced challenges in certain areas, particularly related to internet quality and network issues observed in 2024.
