Winter vacations for schools in Punjab officially ended on Friday, January 10, 2025. However, rumors circulating on social media and WhatsApp claimed that the holidays were extended until January 18, 2025, due to the cold weather, leading to confusion among students and parents.

Punjab’s Secretary of Education, Khalid Nazir Watoo, addressed these rumors, clarifying that there was no extension. He confirmed in an official statement that schools would reopen as scheduled on January 13, 2025. Watoo emphasized the importance of relying on official sources for updates and urged parents to disregard unverified claims.

“All announcements related to school holidays or schedule changes will be communicated through the verified social media accounts of the School Education Department Punjab,” Watoo stated, aiming to prevent further misinformation.

The statement serves as a reminder for the public to trust only official communications from the Education Department for accurate and reliable information.
